Bloomingdale’s tax system has been very popular with its residents. Since the town implemented a 10-year comprehensive “quality of life” community plan to eliminate property tax as a revenue source for the village, property taxes have been reduced by over 60% in the past eight years.
The quaint Old Town area of Bloomingdale offers residents antique, craft and gift boutiques in a town square setting. Bloomingdale residents also have almost 30 clubs, civic groups and organizations, which appeal to any who wish to become actively involved in community life.

Bloomingdale’s excellent location has largely contributed to its popularity in the past couple of decades. Both Chicago airports are within a 45-minute drive and the city of Chicago is easily accessible by both train and car.
